History of World-Class Cricket
History of World-Class Cricket
Cricket
is a bat and ball game played by two teams of eleven players each on a field
centred 20 metres with a wicket at each end consisting of two wickets balanced
on three stumps.
The game progresses when a player in the launching team, called a bowler, "bowls" (pushes) the ball from one end of the field to the other. The kicking wingers try to prevent the ball from being kicked into the goal, while the outfielders try to prevent the ball from leaving the field. If the ball hits the court and changes grip, the shot is "out". Then one of the players in the batting team leaves the field and the next player in the batting order enters. The batting team kicks the ball and then runs between shots while the fielding team tries to block it. If both batters ran to opposite sides of the field, they have one run. The batting team continues batting until ten players are out. The fielding team then bats and tries to score more runs than the batting team. The team with the more runs at the end of the game wins.
